2021 Escape Titanium headlamp upgrade... need help with BCM values

Hey all, I need some help with my 2021 Escape SE. I recently upgraded to the Titanium quad LED headlamps, and everything works except the high beams. I used As Built data from a Titanium, but I’m missing a value somewhere.

If anyone with a Titanium Escape and access to Forscan could share screenshots of their body control module (BCM) quick code word values for headlights, fog lights, and high beams, that would be awesome. It’d really help me figure out what’s missing without having to mess around with manually entering more As Built data.

Thanks in advance for any help!

You also need to tell the system it has an HCM and make changes to the IPC and APIM as well. If you don’t already have the info, you can pull the As Built data directly from Ford at Select Country - FordServiceInfo.Com. Just grab a VIN from a used car listing to get the data.

@Maxwell
Thanks for the tip! Do you know which line of code in the As Built corresponds to the HCM, IPC, and APIM? I’ve made some manual changes to the IPC and APIM, but I haven’t dug into the As Built data for those yet.

Here are the BCM changes I’ve made so far. Everything works except the high beams, which might confirm the need for the HCM.

BCM Module As Built:

726-11-01 : 001B 001B 0075
726-11-02 : 0900 0964 0AC0
726-11-03 : 2000 1323 23BA
726-11-04 : 3235 02C8 5DD0
726-11-05 : 5830 0000 CB
726-12-01 : 0000 1231 0285
726-12-02 : 3502 1200 22AC
726-12-03 : 8B74 0000 0041
726-12-04 : 0000 43

You’ll need to use AsBuilt Explorer to compare and find the differences (deltas). Start Forscan without a saved profile. If you did the wiring correctly, it should detect the HCMs. Look closely at the BCM, IPC, and APIM.

Here’s the tool for comparison: https://www.compulsivecode.com/Project_AsBuiltCompare.aspx. Just FYI, the site’s SSL certificate expired last week, so you’ll get a security warning.

@Maxwell
Perfect, thanks! I’ll use that tool to compare the As Built data again and see if I missed anything.

What’s an HCM? Sorry if that’s a dumb question.

Not a dumb question! HCM stands for Headlamp Control Module. It basically manages the headlight functions like high beams and adaptive lighting.

Upgrading headlights can be tricky with newer cars. Did you check if the wiring harness is fully compatible? That’s tripped me up before.

I think the wiring is good. Everything else works except the high beams, so it seems like a coding issue.
