Hey, does anyone have an idea of the cost to get the transmission fluid, diff fluid, and PTU fluid all changed at once? I’m also thinking about the transmission fluid filter. I’m in Canada, but if you’re in the US, just let me know the currency, and I’ll convert it. Thanks in advance!
The fluid can be replaced, but the trans filter isn’t because it’s sealed inside the case.

That’s a bit frustrating. Thanks for letting me know!
Probably around $700 USD, but keep in mind the filter isn’t replaceable. Usually, it’s not needed until about 150k miles, though some people do it at 100k.

Wow, I didn’t realize the filter wasn’t accessible. That seems kind of impractical to me.
@Zane
Yeah, but it’s a sealed transmission, so a filter isn’t as necessary. The magnet inside catches any metal debris, and since gears don’t need super-precise tolerances like piston rings, minor scoring isn’t a big deal.
I recently got my transmission and PTU fluids changed at the dealer. It cost me $300 total—$190 for the transmission flush and the rest for the PTU. I haven’t done my differential yet. I plan to do my transmission and PTU every 60k and the differential at 80k. My Escape has 68k miles right now.
@Ellis
Thanks! Is that price in Canadian dollars? Also, I saw a video (https://youtu.be/KfJI06AVUf0?si=ZR9iulplHt6M5ilV) where someone changed their diff fluid at 21k miles, and it was black with a ton of debris from the break-in period. I’d do it myself, but you need to have the car level when jacked up.
@Zane
I just bought my Escape. It has 10,000 km on it. I’m planning to change all three fluids at 30,000 km and then every 50,000 km after that.

Got it! Just sharing my experience. And that $300 was in USD.
For a 2012 Fusion, I paid around $300 for fluid-only changes at Firestone. It’d probably be double if you include the differential.

Thanks for the info!
