Anyone know what this port is on the back of an OEM radio for a 2012 Escape?

Trying to install an OEM touchscreen Nav radio in my 2012 Escape, but the old radio had this port and the new one doesn’t. Now maps won’t work. Any idea what it is and if there’s a fix?

That’s the SiriusXM antenna connector.

Looks like the antenna connection.

Edit: Just noticed the actual antenna wire in the lower left. This is probably where the GPS antenna goes.

Any idea if there’s an adapter for this? It doesn’t connect to the new radio, and I can’t seem to find anything online.

Not sure. You might be better off just getting an aftermarket radio instead.

There’s an adapter that lets you plug the antenna cable into a SiriusXM receiver—if your new radio is ‘XM ready.’

That’s for a GPS antenna.

That’s the satellite radio antenna connection. The Escape has two antennas—one on the right fender for AM/FM and another on the front right corner of the roof for satellite radio.

Looks like a coaxial cable connection. Probably for the stock antenna, but not 100% sure.

If you’ve kept a 2012 Escape running this long, props to you!

Why do you say that? :joy:

The coolant intrusion issues on the EcoBoost engines. Yours is pre-facelift, so it has the better engine. I had a 2013 non-turbo and sold it at 100,700 miles. The turbo versions are a nightmare.

@Tatum
So would you say the 2013 is better?

Actually, the 2012 Escape is considered one of the most reliable years, while the 2013 is one of the worst. Look it up.

The 2012 is also the last year of the second-gen Escape and has nothing in common with the 2013 and newer models.
