Changed my spark plugs and coils, still having issues

I have a 2013 Ford Escape that was running rough, misfiring whenever I went up any hill, big or small. After checking, I found that I needed new spark plugs and ignition coils, so I replaced both. It ran well for about a week, but now it’s back to misfiring. I didn’t know you had to adjust the gap on spark plugs, and I’m wondering if that could be the issue, or if it might be something else. Any suggestions?

We had a misfire on cylinder 3. I changed the spark plugs and coil for that cylinder, but the issue keeps coming back. Some people say it might be a coolant intrusion problem, which could be a bigger issue, but I’m not sure now.

If you haven’t had to add coolant or it’s not low, you might be okay, but definitely ask the mechanic about coolant intrusion if that’s the issue.

Have you checked your coolant level lately? Is it low or empty?

Honestly, no, I haven’t checked that.

It’s just a suggestion. If it’s a coolant intrusion problem, you’ll likely need to keep adding coolant regularly unless there’s a leak somewhere.

Oh no. I haven’t had any issues with that. I do know I have coolant in it and haven’t seen signs of a coolant problem.

Assuming there’s no coolant issue, what plugs and coils did you use, and where did you buy them? Do you know which cylinder(s) were misfiring before and which ones are misfiring now? How many miles are on the vehicle, and what engine does it have?

Where did you get the plugs and coils? Was it from a reliable source? I only ask because I replaced my alternator with a rebuilt Motorcraft one, and it ran fine for about a week before it started acting up again. I had to request a warranty replacement, and after changing it out, it ran great again.
