Is $660 a fair price to replace a purge valve on my 2019 car?

My 2019 car has a failed purge valve, and the Ford garage quoted me $660 to replace it, including parts and labor. Does that seem reasonable? I found online estimates that are about half that, but those might be out of date.

My purge valve got stuck open last month. I paid $120 at a local mechanic (not Ford) to replace just the sensor. Replacing the whole assembly would have cost more.

Mine cost $109, but that was back in 2020 for a 2.0 EcoBoost Focus ST.

Replacing the purge valve was really easy for me. I watched a YouTube video and did it myself!

That seems a bit high. Labor should be about 1.5 hours.

Yes, they said about 1.5 hours at $220 per hour. So more than half of the cost is labor, with the valve itself at $310.

OEM purge valve here was around 280 CAD, full price at the dealer. Aftermarket (Dorman brand) was 220 CAD. A shop would mark it up from there plus labor, so it’s not too far off, but it’s a bit pricey if you’re paying in USD.

I would just buy a Standard Motor Products replacement kit and install it myself.
