So I heard that the Ford Escape might be discontinued soon, but honestly, it seems like a good thing if you’re shopping for a used SUV. There are tons of them on the market, and they seem to have great reliability. Anyone else looking into used Escapes or have thoughts on this?
Wait, they’re discontinuing it? I didn’t even know that! Why are they doing that?

Yeah, it’s part of Ford’s push for more electric and hybrid models. They’re cutting a bunch of other vehicles too, like the Edge and Transit Connect.

Makes sense, but it’s still weird seeing popular models go away. At least it means more used ones will be available.
Used Escapes are a solid choice. My 2017 one has over 200k miles and still runs great. Just keep up with maintenance.

Wow, 200k miles? That’s impressive. Any major repairs along the way?

Just the usual stuff—brakes, tires, and some suspension work. Nothing crazy. These SUVs can last if you take care of them.
I’m looking at a 2020 Escape right now. It has all those Co-Pilot360 features, which seem super handy. Anyone know if the hybrid version is worth it?

The hybrid is great for fuel economy, especially if you’re in the city a lot. Plus, it still has decent power.

Totally agree. The hybrid option was a big deal when it came out. Plus, the 2020 models are pretty modern tech-wise.
What’s the deal with those trim options? I saw one listed as an SEL and another as an ST-Line. IDK what the difference is.

Good question! SEL trims are older and more traditional, while the ST-Line is sportier and newer. Both are good, depending on what you want.

Thanks for explaining! I kept seeing those names and wasn’t sure what was up.
Pro tip: If you’re shopping used, look for one with the Cold Weather package. Heated seats and mirrors are lifesavers in winter.

For real! I have that package, and it’s so worth it if you live somewhere cold.

Agreed. Nothing worse than scraping frozen mirrors in the morning lol.
