2012 Ford Escape. Anyone know how to make Sync default to Bluetooth Audio? It’s getting annoying having to press the media button and say ‘Bluetooth Audio’ then confirm with ‘YES’ every single time I get in the car.
I updated mine to version 4.6, which helped it remember the last input, usually Bluetooth audio. Do you see track info on your display? If not, an update might fix that. Ford stopped supporting USB updates, but you can still find the files on some sites.

Yeah, I tried looking into this. The file version I found online didn’t work, and the Ford New Zealand site others suggested is down too. Anyone got the zip file for a 2012 Ford Escape Limited?

Choose carefully, though. The latest update stopped supporting mic access for Siri and Google Assistant, which I need, so I went with an older version that still has track info, remembers last input, and keeps the mic active. The ZA site lists the file name to search for.

I tried entering my VIN and email, but it just throws an error. I’m specifically looking for version 4.6.

Try googling ‘DR3T-14D544-AF’ — that’s version 4.4, which remembers Bluetooth as last input, displays track info, and still keeps the mic active. Do you already see track info in your display? Also, what version does it show in Settings?

Thanks a ton! I found that file name and downloaded it here:

I extracted it onto a FAT32 USB and successfully updated my system! Now I get track info, text message alerts, and it even stays on Bluetooth audio after turning the car off and on. Thank you!!!
