Is this used 2020 Ford Escape a good deal or should I pass?

I have a 2001 Escape, and it’s still running strong with no major issues. It’s been a classic for me.

First step: 1) Don’t buy it.

Don’t buy it for that price. You can find something better that will last longer.

A coworker just bought a 2020 Escape Titanium with a 2.0L engine for $22k, and it had only 38k miles. The 1.5L engine is underpowered and has higher miles.

I’m selling my 2017 for $6,000. It needs a new head gasket but has 169k km on it (I’m in Ontario). Everything else works fine.

I would definitely look for a RAV4 or CR-V in that price range. Escapes lost their reliability after the 2013 model year.

I’ve got a 1.5L Escape with almost 160,000 miles. I’m getting the alternator replaced, but other than that, it’s been solid.

I just traded my 2020 SE today. I had it for only 2 weeks, and it had 12 recalls. It had 60k miles but had transmission lag and a faulty purge valve. Ford said it’s a common issue and replaces them all the time. If you’re okay with occasional repairs, it’s not a bad car. But I’d recommend staying away from it.

I’d recommend checking out Carvana, they’ve been really good to me. You can trade up to 3 cars until you find the one you want, and they have a money-back guarantee. They delivered my new 2023 Nissan Rogue to me, and it was easy to do. Plus, they didn’t care about my credit score at all.

Is this a paid ad for Carvana?

Nope, just sharing my experience. I saw your post and thought I’d offer my advice since I just went through the same thing.

@Blaine
I looked into Carvana, but they want an $11,000 down payment, which is a bit much for me.
