My 2008 Escape had its odometer rolled back… thoughts?

Here’s a photo of my 2008 Escape:

I recently discovered the odometer was rolled back. What do you guys think might have happened?

That’s surprisingly clean for a car with over 300k miles.

Airbags are just a ‘nice to have,’ huh?

My guess is the cluster failed, and someone threw in a junkyard cluster. I had this happen with my 2004 Trailblazer.

With Chevy, the mileage stays with the cluster, so when I swapped mine out, it shaved 300k km off the clock. Not sure how Ford clusters work though.

Wow, they racked up some serious miles between 2016 and 2018. Was it used as a taxi?

And what’s up with no airbags? I’ll just say this: my life would’ve been very different if my last car didn’t have airbags.

@Kip
Could be from fleet or company use. My company used to assign these as work vehicles, and it wasn’t unusual for someone to put 200k miles on them in a short time.
