Need Help Finding the Right Pigtails for 2014 Escape Fog Light Assembly

Hi everyone,

I have a 2014 Ford Escape Titanium 2.0, and earlier this year, the driver’s side fog light assembly was damaged in an accident. My boyfriend, who’s a body mechanic, promised to fix it but has been dragging his feet for five months now. I’m at my limit and decided to try and figure it out myself.

What I have:

  1. Fog light assembly with fog light/socket
  2. Fog light H10 pigtail (H11 didn’t fit, so I sorted that out)
  3. Marker bulb & socket
  4. Turn signal bulb & socket

What I still need:
Pigtails for the turn signal and marker sockets.

I tried a 7440 pigtail connector, but it doesn’t fit the marker socket. It might work for the turn signal, but I know my boyfriend will complain if it’s not a perfect fit. I read somewhere that Ford might require replacing the entire wiring harness—is this true?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks for reading!

Why is he being a pain about it? Does this happen a lot?

He’s a pain because it’s been five months, and now I can’t get my car inspected since the turn signal isn’t working. Do you also tend to put things off?

@Winter
Mechanics who work all day don’t always want to do car work at home. Also, was the accident covered by insurance? You could look for parts at a pick-a-part yard.

We’ve been together for nearly 11 years, so that’s not the issue! He didn’t want to report it to insurance—said he could fix it for $150 max vs. paying a $500 deductible. It’s only my car that’s affected, so it’s mainly my problem, not his. Also, he works in the coal mines now, which is exhausting, but he was unemployed for the first three months after the accident.

Unfortunately, our closest junkyard is over 1.5 hours away. I was hoping to just order the parts online instead of spending a day there.

@Winter
Maybe hold back on the kitty treats until he fixes it! :joy_cat:

@Winter
You can check if the junkyard has what you need by looking up their inventory online or just giving them a call. Mining is hard work, and even when people aren’t working, it can affect their energy.
