I have a 2012 Ford Escape XL, and I’m having some issues with the display thing. When I got it, I was able to connect my Bluetooth, and I know it works; however, it’s now stuck and won’t do anything. I have what it’s stuck on and what my options for buttons are. Any help is appreciated. I just want to be able to see my info there again.
Being new to any sub has no bearing on being able to do some research.
That’s the default display when no signal from the radio.
You have an XLS or XLT, there’s no XL.
Restart sync is the first step. Next might be replacing the radio. Both of these things have been discussed before and can be found fairly easily.
The display is just a screen, the actual radio is behind the buttons. Have you tried disconnecting the car battery for a few minutes? it is practically the only way to “reboot” the radio and Sync module.

How do I safely disconnect the battery? I’ve been trying to find a YouTube video but nothing is coming up?

Disconnect the negative(black) first, then positive(red). Find the battery (should be under the hood), use tools to loosen the terminal bolts, leave it off for a bit, then put and tighten terminals back on in reverse order: Red, then Black.
Here to second undoing the battery, wait 5-10 min then reattach.
If you have the voice command button on your steering wheel, press it and say USB. If you don’t, disconnect your battery as mentioned before.

This randomly happens to me as well in my 2012, the buttons on the wheel work for the time being and it’ll randomly work again.
I find USB is stable where Bluetooth is full of cavities lol. Works sometimes but not worth the aggravation. I have a 2011 XLT, virtually the same.
Are you sure that the radio is on? Press the volume control for on or off.
