Weird noise on my 2021 Ford Escape SE with 34,000 miles… any ideas?

After I drive my car for a bit, I hear this strange noise, especially when it’s in park and I rev it around 1450 RPMs. The noise is annoying, and my local Ford dealer acknowledged it but couldn’t figure out the cause. According to the Ford app, the car is in great health, and my OBD scanner shows no issues either. But there’s definitely something off, you’ll hear it in the video.

I use it mainly for work, just 10-15 miles daily. Any thoughts on what it could be?

Your dealer should have a VCMM tool with NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) probes to help trace the noise. If your car’s out of warranty, this could get pricey, and even if it’s still covered, they might not want to spend much time on it since diagnosing noises and vibrations can be a real pain.

Not a mechanic, but it might be something to do with the turbo if your Escape has one. It could be the turbo making noise as it spools up.

That’s definitely worth checking. Could also try running the engine without the belts to see if that helps locate the sound.
