Hey everyone, I’m dealing with the dreaded coolant intrusion issue on my 2017 Ford Escape. I’ve only had the car for two years, and Ford just told me it’s no longer under warranty. I feel like this is their responsibility to fix, but not sure what to do next. Any advice?
First, make sure they’re correct. Is it over 7 years or 84,000 miles since it was sold new? I bought my 2017 Escape in November 2017 and I’m only at 65,000 miles, so I’m still technically covered under the Ford Customer Satisfaction Program (CSP 21N12) for coolant intrusion. You might want to check it out online.

I’m at 71,000 miles. Should I bring up this program with the dealership? How did you go about it?

I haven’t had coolant intrusion (yet), but Ford confirmed I’m covered. Do you know when your car was first sold? If it was sold before 10/26/2017, it’s likely past the 7-year mark. Another thing to check is if the previous Ford CSP #19B37 was completed—if it wasn’t, that could disqualify you too. I’d recommend downloading CSP 21N12 and reading it closely before contacting Ford again.

I’ll need to look into the vehicle’s history to see if that program was completed. Thanks for the guidance.
