2020 Escape AWD Module Issue – Will Ford Provide a Loaner Car?

Hi Peeps,

I have a question about the warranty for my 2020 Ford Escape SE. The dealership has had my car for a while now, and I was told it could take up to 10 days to sort out the issue. I expected it to be fixed sooner and didn’t ask about a loaner car. My car insurance only covers rentals if it’s due to an accident, and as a mom, I really need a car to get around.

Does anyone know if Ford provides loaner cars when your vehicle is being serviced for an extended period? I plan to ask the dealership about this tomorrow, but I’m wondering if I should get my hopes up.

Also, I’ve read that many 2020 Escape owners have experienced similar problems with the AWD module. I don’t understand why so many people have the same issue but it’s not being recalled. I’m frustrated with all these problems with my car :weary:

Hey,
I recently had the engine replaced in our 2018 model. Although I didn’t buy it through Ford (I had an extended warranty that covered it), the dealer was very helpful and provided me with a loaner for most of the 6 weeks our car was in the shop.

My Escape was in the shop for 7 weeks. Thankfully, Ford covered a rental car during that time. It must have cost them quite a bit.

If the repair is covered under warranty, you should be entitled to a loaner car. Contact Ford customer service to arrange it

It should be under warranty. I only started having problems after they fixed the recall, which was about fuel injectors and fire risks. It might be the AWD module, and some say that’s covered under Ford’s powertrain warranty. Since my car has under 60,000 miles, I’m hoping it’s covered. Fingers crossed! :frowning_woman:t2:
