Hey everyone, I have a 2016 Ford Escape S and I’m struggling to find decent wipers that actually work well. Tried the AutoZone Aero blades and they were awful … lots of noise, didn’t clean properly, and one even fell off. Then I got the AutoZone Flex, but after just 4 months, they’re not doing much better. I’d appreciate any recommendations for reliable wiper blades that last. Thanks!
I’ve been using Bosch Icons for years and they’ve never let me down.

I was looking at the Rain-X Latitude wipers and they’re pretty affordable on Amazon, so I think I might give those a try.
@Ripley
Good choice! The Rain-X ones are great because of the water-repelling coating they leave behind. Sometimes I don’t even need to turn the wipers on when driving at higher speeds because the rain just slides right off.

I’d go for something better. The Icons don’t handle heat well. Silicone wipers, like Rain-X’s silicone model, hold up much better.
Michelin wipers are solid and they come with the adapter that fits the Escape’s odd design.

Costco usually has them in stock! Michelin is my go-to.
I bought some mid-range flex beam wipers from Walmart and they’ve been good so far. Make sure to clean your windshield really well first. Not just with regular cleaner, but try using a razor blade or even steel wool to remove stuck debris. Properly cleaned glass will help your wipers last longer.
@Merrick
Careful with that! Some cars have coated windshields that can get damaged with metal tools.

Yeah, definitely. And don’t forget to clean the wiper blades too. I usually wipe them down with a damp cloth whenever I clean the windshield.

I just use the window squeegee at gas stations to give the wipers a quick clean.

I do that too! I soak the blades with the cleaner at the gas station and then wipe them down with a paper towel. You’d be surprised at how much gunk comes off.
Bosch Icons are the way to go. They’re a solid choice.

Not in my experience. If you live in a hot area like Texas, the silicone Rain-X wipers are a better bet. The Icons don’t last as long in that kind of heat.
Get the original Ford wiper blades. They seem to last longer than other brands I’ve tried.
Motorcraft blades have held up well for me. I park in a garage, but even with sun exposure at work, they’ve lasted about 5 years before needing replacement. Aftermarket blades haven’t lasted nearly as long.
I think I got some Rain-X wipers or something like that. As long as it fits, you should be fine.
I decided to try these new wiper blades called Kimblades. They use a square-shaped silicone blade instead of the usual flat style. Been using them for almost 6 months and they work well for keeping the windshield clear.
