Hello! I’m dealing with an intermittent misfire in Cylinder 3 of my 2017 Escape 2.0L. There are no signs of coolant leaks, and I’m not losing coolant either. I’ve already replaced both plugs and coils, but I’m at a bit of a loss here. Really hoping it’s not a coolant intrusion issue… anyone have advice?
If it’s not an issue with the injector, then unfortunately, coolant intrusion could be a possibility. Fingers crossed that it’s something else though.

Keep a close eye on your coolant level just to be safe.
Direct injection engines often get carbon buildup on the valves, which can cause a misfire or feel like one. I’d suggest taking it to the dealership for a GDI cleaning. Dealerships are usually better equipped for this procedure since it has to be done a specific way for best results.
How many miles does it have? And is it FWD or AWD?
You might want to try pressurizing the cooling system (you can rent the tool for this) and then use an endoscope to check inside the cylinder. That could help pinpoint if coolant intrusion is an issue.
It has 92K miles and is front-wheel drive. Running a scanner tonight, and taking it in tomorrow for a deeper inspection.
